1992年に独立したゾンカックとなるまではタシガン・ゾンカックの一部であった。かってはルンツェとともに、チベットとの重要な、また、よく使われた交易路であった。ブータン最大のチョルテン・コラや漆製品で知られていたが、最近はオグロヅルの飛来地としても有名である。

TRASHI YANGTSE Dzongkhag(1,400ｋｍ2)
…was a part of Trashigang Dzongkhag until 1992. Once, it thrived as a fort to Tibet. Now, it is well- known for traditional lacquer-ware and Chorten Kora, the biggest Chorten in Bhutan. In addition, people are starting to pay attention to the importance of this place as wintering over place for black-necked cranes.
