… shares border with Tibet, and used to be an important route for trade between those two countries. However,
the border has been closed after China-Tibet conflict.
It is famous for its traditional textile such as KISHTARA. Weavers, mainly young girls, are working in groups to produce those textiles. Small textile factories are scattered here and there notably in the villages of KOMA and GOMPA.About 2 or 3 days walk to North from the end of motor way will bring you to DUNKAL, where the present Royal Family is from.
